Bristol based singer songwriter and Atlantic sailor, graphic designer Dave Oakley has been writing songs and performing in pubs and clubs for as long as he can remember. Having played the Troubadour and the Mean Fiddler in London in the early '90s he moved to Bristol and began supporting some of the great names that perform at the Albert Hole including Kate Campbell and Tom McConnville. He has also played the Priddy Folk Fesival '03 & '05 and numerous other pubs and clubs in the south west.
His album LOST PROPERTY (released in July 2002) is a fine collection of songs written between1985 and 2002. His songs cover wide ranging subjects from road rage to a fascination with Irish whiskey and Maurine O'Hara.
POSTCARD HOME contains a master set of great songs including Morecambe Bay and Stranger To These Streets, and features the wonderful melodeon of Issy Emeney, Richard Ireland on bass, Mo Morgan on drums and Jim Tigwell on lead guitar.
